  Thanks, i didn't and don't expect to find much PROOF. Looking for what people use to base those ideas on.

  The reason i ask is that i am working my way through the WBTS from pre Russell to now. BIG JOB! I am unable to see a few big/bad things and just jump on the 'yep, full of shit false religion mind control cult' bandwagon. Just how it has to be for me i guess.

  I am collecting all the major 'apostate' stuff on each person and major claims and then proving them to myself. My criteria is that there must be documented real proof either in secular sources, their own lit or court transcripts or several eye witness testimonies etc. I then list what i find as

  True/ plausable/ likely but not provable or outright false.

  I am unwilling beleive every thing i read and if i am to fully 'apostasize' and get my kids out i want to KNOW i am right and that i can back up what i might say or do.

  eg; i will not tell people Rutherford was an alcoholic if there is only here-say. No matter how much i may want to believe everything bad is true about them, if it's not provable to a very reasonable degree, then i wont believe it.

  EDIT: This subject is a small part of the picture. In the grand scheme of things it matters little if it can be proved or not. Just dotting my i's and crossing my t's!

  Would you accept a microchip implant?

  assuming the governments would pass a law requiring everyone to have a microchip i.d.

  implant with gps tracking capabilities, storing your personal and financial data but also record all your movements.. would you be for or against it?.

  personally i don't have a problem with it but i'm just wondering , what would be the drawbacks for the normal, law abiding citizen?.

  Yes. I was still defending them even though i was D/F in 2000. I found this site after looking into "IF" JWs actually may be supporting my ex in how she has handled the childrens access to me.

  It was hard to even read stuff on here to to start with, i was actually quite frightened... it was amazing that even 12 years out, that they still held my mind in this way.

  is it a requirement, or just encouraged?

  are the scriptures they use taken out-of-context?

  Rutherford NEEDED more converts badly by the mid 20s. The preaching work was the tool for the job, all he needed to do was find some passage to spin it, which he did.

  The door to door work was most effective post world war two. The growth from about 47,000 in 1938 to 230,000 (if i remember correctly) in 1948 was a huge 500% jump. The increases got a lot less impressive after that in terms of % growth. Nowdays, yep it's nine tenths of bugger all!

  BUT there is no way that they can drop the door to door work, not even when it gets into negative growth. They will just spin it's purpose differently. Perhaps to something like not so much a preaching/converting work but a warning work.

  There were some JW killed in Haiti, but I don't know how their hearts condition were. Perhaps they lost Jah's spirit momentarily. Perhaps some in the local congregation were sinning and caused Jah's protection to leave, we dont know. It is speculation.
  And yes, we should pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

  When some witnesses die, they may have momentarily lost Jah's spirit? Perhaps they were killed because somebody in the congregation may have been sinning? Ah, Nelson, speculate away!

  Nelson needs some real investigating... i wanna know what he is!!!!

  Teel, i have wondered that myself... i mean, could anybody REALLY be that bizarre?

  But then again, somebody has to be the stereo typical JW dont they. It's almost like he is stuck in some 1950s Hard core world of witnesses.

  Nelson Birdwell I have decided to continue my preaching activity via "virtual pioneering", Ibelieve Jah will help the elders understand the witness this holds. I wish this page had a hit counter, as I could multiply the time I spend preaching by so many readers. I think I could make my yearly hours in a month, easily here. WTF! virtual pioneering! Multiply by the hits? wow!

  Edit: I cant believe this fellow! He is trying to pioneer and count his hours battling apostates on facebook that the society frowns on and thinks the elders will see it HIS way. I dont know if he is for real, ballsy, or deluded. But he sure is an arrogant fellow.... and to me, really funny to observe
